HOW TO USE
PAINCAKES FOR EVERYONE
Though originally developed by and for athletes, anyone can use PAINCAKES™.
PAINCAKES™ arrive in a specially designed pouch that keeps the “stick” in your cold pack, sticky. Our packs are tough and durable; treat them with care and they’ll forever change the way you apply cold therapy.
We recommend chilling your pack (and storing it) by placing the entire pouch into the frost-box. Yep. Just toss the whole package in. This keeps your cold pack protected from the rough-and-tumble environment that is your freezer.
CREATED TO DEFY GRAVITY
PAINCAKES™ hover 60mils — think 5 sheets of paper towel — above your (skin) to create a “circumference area chill” or lake effect. So while they “appear” to adhere directly to the skin, they’re magically suspended above it.
Depending on the degree in which you wrap or conform the pack, areas of the pack may touch the skin directly.
TO START
  • Chill for :30 minutes and apply.
BUILD THE CHILL
  • As you become accustomed to stronger cold therapy, chill for 1 to 2 hours and apply. If chilled for more than 4 hours, always let the pack sit for several minutes or until conformable
KEEP IN MIND
  • Always check pack temperature before application.
  • Always remove slowly if too cold. Let sit and reapply when temperature is suited to your comfort level.

SAFE-USE GUIDE
  • Use CAUTION when wearing PAINCAKES. Always test pack temperature before application. If pack feels too cold, allow it to sit at room temperature for several minutes or more until pack is within your comfort range for application.
  • An optimal cold therapy session is not more than :10 minutes. Always wait at least :30 minutes in between cold therapy sessions.
  • We insist: Start by chilling PAINCAKES for :30 minutes. *Note that some freezers are set to different temperatures than others. :30 minutes in one freezer can be +/- in another. By starting at :30 minutes or less for your first use, you can quickly gauge what’s comfortable and what’s not. If PAINCAKES are too cold upon application, slowly remove, replace the cover, and let it sit at room temperature before reapplying.
As with ANY cold therapy, prolonged use may cause injury. PAINCAKES is for external use only. Do not apply to sensitive skin — cuts, scrapes, abrasions, rashes or open wounds. Use on face is not recommended. Do not use on infants. Use under adult supervision. Do not microwave. PAINCAKES is not a hot pack. Do not fall asleep using PAINCAKES. If you experience prolonged or chronic pain, please consult your doctor.
